auto loan refinance credit union

Had an issue with auto re-finance?

I had my car refinanced through a credit union (all on paper). Now, After I sent them fax after fax after fax, even drove 150 miles to sign the paper work (no boggy it would have paid off), Had issues with getting a pay-off quote from the lien holder tons of other headaches. A day later thinking I am set to go with a cheaper monthly payment I get a phone call from this credit union saying I have no association with Lake county Indiana and the loan will be voided.

After all the headaches, excitement, relief ETC..Is there anything I can do perhaps a law suit or demand compensation for them theoretically letting my current lien get delinquent and basically getting my hopes up and just shutting me down?

Unfortunately, there’s nothing you can do. Lenders have a right to implement “conditions” before they fund the loan. For example, I agree to buy your car on the condition that you replace the battery. Replacement of the battery is the condition. If you don’t replace it, I’m not obligated to purchase your vehicle.

If you ever consider applying for a loan, make sure you ask all the possible requirements of the loan up front, during the initial phone conversation. This will save you a lot of frustration and expense.
